It Takes Two ha vinto Game of the Year ai Game Awards 2021, battendo giochi come Deathloop e Metroid Dread per il primo posto.
Sebbene la sfilza di “esclusive mondiali!” potrebbe farti pensare diversamente, The Game Awards, noto anche come E3 Part 2: Winter Break Edition di Geoff Keighley, apparentemente onora alcuni dei giochi più vivaci dell’anno. Dopo la sciarada socialmente distanziata dell’anno scorso, quest’anno l’evento è stato IRL, con l’haut monde dell’industria dei giochi che si è presentata al Microsoft ƒTheater nella soleggiata Los Angeles, facendo ingelosire ogni scrittore di giochi a 37ºF a New York (ha detto, sicuramente non sentendosi disprezzato affatto).
Sei blockbuster erano in lizza per il primo premio quest’anno, ma i premi sono stati assegnati in più di due dozzine di categorie, coprendo di tutto, dai generi specifici ai riconoscimenti tecnici al “miglior gioco di eSport, presentato da GrubHub”. Le deliberazioni sono state per lo più (circa il 90%) determinate da un corpo votante di stampa e influencer, ma il 10% del voto è ponderato dal feedback dei fan.
